Eilbeck Crane has successfully completed the contract to supply a large conveyor 100t Take Up Winch for the Jimblebar Project Mine Over Land Conveyor (OLC) project for BHP Billiton through Fluor and SKM Iron Ore Joint Venture under the BHP SSA agreement. BHP Billiton has recognised Eilbeck to be reliable supplier with the ability to be flexible offering integrated designs to suit the client requirement.
The Jimblebar Hub site is located 39 km east of Newman in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. Newman is approximately 1300 km north of Perth and 450 km south of Port Headland. Jimblebar is part of an expansion project, launched in 2010 and aimed at increasing production from the Pilbara mines to 240 million tonnes of iron ore annually by 2013. The project is titled Rapid Growth Project 6 and art of a supply of various number of over head cranes and hoists.
Eilbeck Crane’s contract comprises of 1off Winches with 25 t line pull, class M6, and capacity off 100 t, rope diameter 44 mm with 2 x 102 m capacity plus 14 off Sheaves 1240 mm class M8. Part of the special supply was a low speed 1800 mm disc brake, complete with remote control automatic control.
The steel frame fabricated by Eilbeck Cranes is completely galvanize to give long term maintenance free coating sustaining the harsh environmental conditions.
